KidAbility was created by Rashi Patel, OTR, PT in response to a need for a more family-centered, customized approach to therapy for children with disabilities. Mrs. Patel has a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy and a Masters of Science degree in Physical Therapy. She has been practicing since 2001 with an emphasis on pediatric care. She also completed her Neurodevelopmental Treatment Training in Treatment of Children with Cerebral Palsy in 2005. Mrs. Patel has significant experience in treating children with torticollis, balance issues, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Visual Deficits, Sensory Processing Disorders, and Feeding Disorders. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and American Occupational Therapy Association.
Mrs. Patel is uniquely qualified as BOTH a physical and occupational therapist and uses her expertise to create a customized treatment program for each child. Mrs. Patel is fluent in English and Hindi (an Indian dialect) and can speak conversational French and Spanish. She currently resides in Plano with her husband and two children and uses her love of corny jokes to entertain them for hours!
